In it he says that some of the information, connecting Samuel Baird, the husband of Matilda Rutledge, to the ancestors recorded here is secondary, but that since the Church is now ac\Icepting Secondary Sources in the absence of Primary Sources, they are accepting this lineage, and will continue to search for better documentation. The book, p. 594 lists 3 other possible children of John Baird: Bedent, Rachel, Dr. Ed\Iward. There is also some confusion as to whether his wife, or one of them if he had more than one, might have been Mary Bedent, a widow. It says she had also been married to Thomas Bedent and to Roger Townsend. I also reviewed THE BA\IIRD AND BEARD FAMILY, by Fermine Baird Catchings. I could not locate Topenemus in any Gazeteer, on a map, or in the SLFHL catalog. The Old Tennent Church records are listed, but start about 1737.
